Continuing the Job Search

Filed in Finding a Job, Networking by on September 27, 2013

The Career Fair has gone and you might be thinking, “Aw man. My chance to find a job is gone…”

NEVER!!!

Here are a few ways to keep up the search:

  1. Don’t give up!! There’s still plenty of time to find an internship or job. Continue using JobFinder to look for job postings and apply for everything that you can! The worst thing that could happen is the company says no or doesn’t invite you for an interview. You never know until you try. A thing we used to say in soccer: “You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take,” (Wayne Gretzky). Apply, apply, apply!!!! Here’s a handout and podcast to show you how to use your JobFinder account.

  1. Network – LinkedIn is an awesome website to display yourself to employers, companies, and other job seekers all over the country. Not sure how to set up a profile? Here’s a handout to help you out! LinkedIn is wicked cool because it allows you reach out to and connect with friends, family, alumni, friends of friends, etc. to learn more about a job that THEY have that YOU would like to have! You can learn more about companies and so much more. More connections lead to more job opportunities!
