The Chelsea Collaborative is an organization dedicated to the needs of the community of Chelsea. Their mission is to enhance the social, environmental and economic health of the community and its people. They achieve their mission through community organizing and education, as they see organizing as a way to build community power and achieve lasting change.

The Collaborative administers the following programs:

  • Chelsea Summer Youth Employment Initiative
  • Chelsea Citywide  Tenants Association
  • Chelsea Green Space and Recreation Committee
  • Chelsea Latino Immigrant Committee
  • Chelsea United in Defense of Education
  • Chelsea Voter Initiative

Sylvia Ramirez   Director, Youth and Families Department

Sylvia oversees all of the community campaigns in the Youth and Families Department. This consists of the Chelsea United in Defense of Education and the Summer Youth Employment Initiative.

Maria Belen Power   Community Organizer for Chelsea Green Space and Recreation Committee

Maria Belen organizes the Chelsea Green Space and Recreation Committee.  She oversees all of the campaigns and events of the Committee and provides supervision and support to the seven member youth crew, the Environmental Chelsea Organizers (ECO).
