Purpose

“MassDEP serves the Commonwealth. We enforce laws that protect our air, land and water. We help cities and towns with local environmental issues. We write permits that support natural resources, public health and our economy. We inspect contaminated sites and ensure proper cleanup. Our Project

In conjunction with the MassDEP, our work fell under the Bureau of Planning and Evaluation.  At a time when cyanobacteria and their toxins are becoming more prevalent, our sponsors wanted us to further investigate past cyanobacteria events in the Commonwealth and Public Water Systems’ preparedness. In doing so, this can help create preventive regulations and get water suppliers additional help.
