What happens once I have committed to a specific project center?

You will probably arrive at this stage far in advance of the date when you will actually begin your project work. Thus, there may be a period of time in which you will hear nothing about the upcoming project term (but always respond to any communications from the IGSD in this interim). Advisers and center directors vary from center to center; sometimes they will make arrangements to have an all-hands meeting in the semester preceding the project work, but not all groups do this.

Your project work begins in the term preceding your project, and therefore, you should hear from someone (adviser or center director) shortly before that term begins.
