Wind Energy
Wind Energy
There are constant strong, coastal winds in Monwabisi Park, so we considered trying to utilize wind energy as an unlimited, clean source of renewable energy in the settlement. By harnessing the wind, electricity could be generated and used to power household appliances without emitting greenhouse gases or any toxins. It would also save electricity. Despite its ideal location, the extremely high start up cost for installing a wind turbine makes the installation of a wind turbine at this point in time not feasible. Small home-made wind turbines could be placed on roofs to power small appliances, but this technology is unfortunately too new and they are not yet efficient enough to consider for Monwabisi Park this year.
