Act 1: Redefining Our Role

Introduction

The goal of this project is to create a sustainable crèche and play park for the children and community members of Flamingo Crescent Informal Settlement. We involved numerous stakeholders and partners to accomplish this. The Scenes below capture our first few weeks in Flamingo Crescent.

We spent the first full week of work connecting with the community and discussing our role as well as their role in this project and how we will work cohesively together towards a common goal. We also got to know our sponsor, The Centre for Early Childhood Development: Eric Atmore as well. Connecting our sponsor with CORC and ISN has really opened doors for our project. We will continue to work closely with the CECD as well as all of our partners and organizations to further the education and early childhood development of all members of Flamingo Crescent.
