The Likes and Gripes activity in action

The likes and gripes activity is a visual method of prompting a discussion about the successes and shortcomings of an existing facility or identifying community needs.  The activity uses a white board for drawing in order to break the language barrier and spur creative brainstorming.  Each participant- including community members, organizations, and students- gets the opportunity to draw a picture or write a phrase that expresses their likes and concerns.  This can be a useful activity to both share ideas and develop a working relationship with the community leaders.
