Why did you choose the Cape Town Project Centre?

I chose the Cape Town Project Centre for many reasons. Firstly, it had always been a dream of mine to travel to Africa. Secondly, it was very important to me to have a project where I could see changes made in the 7 weeks I was abroad. I left the Cape Town site session with a feeling that this project center was without a doubt the IQP I wanted to be a part of.

How has this project affected you?

This project has changed my life. Working closely with the residents of MGV and helping them overcome obstacles and achieve success has proven to me that I too, can achieve great things. This was possible, especially with the help of an amazing team.

What is your most cherished Cape Town memory?

It is impossible to choose my MOST cherished Cape Town memory! But….one of my most cherished memories is when our group traveled to the Eastern Cape to bungee off Bloukrans Bridge (the world’s highest commercial bungee jump). The entire experience just brought us all closer. I was terrified and could not have done it without the support and motivation from the other students.
