Initial Stakeholder Hierarchy Diagram

After proposal by Dominique and Jenny Marchand of the Honeybee Foundation, the City of Cape Town implemented the Urban Beekeeping Project.  Dominique and Jenny were then hired to act as beekeeping educators and mentors for the seven selected aspiring beekeepers.  The above diagram provides the hierarchy of stakeholders since the City of Cape town hired The Honeybee Foundation to train seven individuals.  We, being WPI, came into the programme to assist the seven individuals in any way possible towards the progression of their business venture.

After arriving in Cape Town and receiving greater information on the Urban Beekeeping Project’s progress, we found that the Overstrand Training Institute had also been contracted to provide business assistance and training to the seven individuals.  This step of the programme continues after our departure.  During our stay, however, Debbie Peiser and Mr. B. of OTI were tremendous help in providing space and resources for the business aspect of the project.

Thank You!

To all involved:

We would like to thank the City of Cape Town, the Honeybee Foundation, OTI, the seven beekeepers, and our advisors for giving us this wonderful opportunity.  We have learned tremendous amounts, built wonderful friendships, gained amazing experiences, and seen the most beautiful views!  All of this could not have been achieved without your help.
