Improve Communication – Involve Community Members

Communication is an essential part of the upgrading procedure. The Flamingo Crescent community leaders were involved in all discussions and made final approval regarding any changes in the upgrading plan. They identified the key social opportunities that directed our project objectives and played a lead role in each venture. Communication was further improved through facilitating relationships between the community and the other stakeholders. Without communication, projects can encounter resistance and problems can arise (Skuse, 2007).
