Meet the Team

Nick Deraney is a Chemical Engineering major who is an active member of the Student Government Association and the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. He has gained experienced working with children from his summer camp job through teaching children how to swim. He enjoys playing tennis, listening to music, and traveling.

Katelyn Nicosia is a Biomedical Engineering major who is an active member, as well as the internal philanthropy chair, of the Alpha Xi Delta Women’s Fraternity. She has worked with preschool children at a summer day care center. When she’s not doing school work, she likes to read, listen to music, and spend quality time with family and friends.

Julie Waddell is a double major in Mechanical Engineering and Electrical and Computer Engineering. She is the Varsity Women’s Crew captain and a student member of IEEE and SWE. She has 4 years of experience working in ECD as an assistant teacher at a local nursery school, with children ages 18 months-5 years. She also worked as a summer camp teacher for school age children between the ages of 6-12 years old. Aside from devoting her time to her academics and crew training, Julie enjoys to listen to music.

Mindy Zhang is a Biology/Biotechnology major with a concentration in pre-medical field. She is an active member of the Alpha Xi Delta Women’s Fraternity. She is also the president of the Exploradreams organization, which mentors children from ages 7-12. In her free time, she enjoys to draw and read books. Given the opportunity, she loves to travel to different countries. Some countries she has visited are Singapore, Taiwan, and Tibet.
