Background Research
For the seven weeks before arriving to Cape Town our team conducted research on K2, the informal settlement we worked in, participatory action in informal settlements, shack construction, building a multipurpose centre in informal settlements, reblocking, and early childhood development. These themes were all suggested by the initial project brief reflecting CORC’s discussions with K2 community members, and were further developed after we began interacting with community members.
