Meet the Team

The student working team for the business project at the Langrug Informal Settlement consists of four members: Nicole Baker, Stephanie Esmond, Reed Gontarek, and Konstantinos Georgiadis.

 Nicole Baker: Nicole hails from the small suburban town of Southington, Connecticut. She is the rational middle child of a family of five and enjoys spending time with her two siblings and her parents at home. Nicole is currently enrolled at Worcester Polytechnic Institute pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Biology and Biotechnology with a minor in Spanish. Outside of classwork, she enjoys being an active student on campus as she is an executive officer of the Social Committee, a sister of Alpha Phi International Fraternity and an active member of the WPI running club. When she is taking a break from school Nicole enjoys going for long runs and fueling her caffeine addiction at local coffee shops.

Stephanie Esmond: Stephanie was born and raised in Sandwich, Massachusetts, the oldest town on Cape Cod. She is an only child who enjoys spending time with her huge extended family (twenty cousins in all). She is currently pursuing a degree in Biology and Biotechnology, with a minor in psychology, at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. On campus, she is an active member of the Alpha Gamma Delta sorority, where she serves as Vice President Finance for her chapter. She is also involved on campus as a member of the Women’s Rugby Team, the Panhellenic Council, and works for SNAP transport. In her free time, she enjoys reading crime novels, spending time with friends, kayaking, hiking, and spending as much time as possible at the beach!

Reed Gontarek: Reed is from Prior Lake, Minnesota, a suburb of Minneapolis.  He is currently studying Industrial Engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute.  He is an active member in his fraternity of Phi Gamma Delta where he has organized philanthropy events for the USO as the Philanthropy Chair.  He is also involved on campus with Worcester Polytechnic Men’s Rugby Club, as the president, as well as the on the Interfraternal Council as a judicial board delegate.  In his free time, he loves to play sports, hang out with friends, and read the New York Times.

10814193_10203250605653622_1341957047_n Konstantinos Georgiadis: Konstantinos grew up in Charlestown, New Hampshire with a strong Greek influence from both of his parents and family relatives. He is the fourth of five siblings and enjoys spending time with them. He is currently studying mechanical engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute where he is an active member and philanthropy chair of Lambda Chi Alpha. Konstantinos has a passion for sports, specifically soccer, football, and basketball. He is an active member of the Worcester Polytechnic Soccer Club and the Greek-Hellenic Association. In addition to playing sports, he enjoys spending most of his time with his friends and family.
