Limited Physical Space and Lack of Seclusion

The unhygienic conditions and proximity of initiation schools to residences (making seclusion difficult) may be caused by inadequate funding.  In a place where privacy and seclusion are necessary, the openness of initiation sites that invites wandering eyes is troublesome for the Langa Initiation Council Head, Pat Nqolobe.  For initiation sites to be a prominent display of culture, a steady source of funding, such as that from the government, is necessary so that sites can have trees planted for natural walls, and proper facilities for their initiates (Barnes, 2010)
